A move on from the eye motif trend that were popular a year or two ago. Abstract face motifs, mostly rendered as flat and linear in a black-and-white colour schemes with highlights of colour, so they kind of go with everything.

There's something whimsical and light-hearted about a face motif, perhaps from the popularity of the emoji. Portraiture has always been big in interiors and we can see this trend moving into Christmas ornaments.
