COSMIC

There was a cosmic Christmas decoration trend emerging, perhaps due to 2019 marking 50 years since the first moon landing. This trend is full of futuristic pieces like iridescent reindeer, metallic stars and astronauts. A fun way to embrace a darker, monochromatic colour scheme this festive season.

Cosmic Sky can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Planets, globes and lunar rock formations inspired shapes and decorations. With star-burst motifs, cosmic sky patterns and colour blends being used on paper products and packaging. As well as motifs like aliens and astronauts.

The astronaut motif is key here, and to embrace our love of creatures, cats, dogs and even mice have been given the cosmonaut treatment. A limited trend I feel, however with the quirky decoration trend continuing, when it comes to this look, we can really embrace the mad, the hare-brained and the outrageous. Perhaps it will take off.
